VAT Update re Outsourced Services in Sports Provision

31.03.2020

Last week we updated our website with a Newsbyte on the potential VAT areas to consider should our local authority network experience issues where they have outsourced the management of their Leisure services and these arrangements collapse as a result of the Covid 19 restrictions.

We recognised that some in our Education network may themselves have arrangements with third parties around the management of leisure centres or sporting venues and possibly Joint Venture company arrangements to consider. Hence this email to share the link to that Newsbyte. Indeed, thinking further, there may be a similar risk around contracted out catering provision should third party operators be unable to weather the loss of income from campus closures.

Thought it worthwhile to raise the matter therefore. We do hope you are all well as we get accustomed to the new normal. Centurion have implemented a range of measures to ensure we safeguard the health of our staff and our clients. Business as usual from the VAT perspective therefore via virtual meetings through Microsoft Team or Zoom or conference calls. All Centurion staff have access to the emailus@centurionvat.com inbox so do copy emails to that address should you need to.

To keep up to date on the VAT front do ensure you are registered to receive our VAT updates – you can do so on our website or use emailus@centurionvat.com stating “Opt in for VAT Updates”.
